How to get a VIP number registered in your own name

Most VIP numbers in the UAE change hands second-hand: you pay a stranger, then meet at a store to transfer the number. There's a simpler way. The number is ordered from du or Etisalat (e&) directly in your name.

Buying second-hand: what's involved

A transfer of ownership is done in person at a carrier store, with both people there and the new owner's original Emirates ID. Until then you've paid someone who may not own the number, or may not turn up. Some premium numbers can't be transferred at all for the first 12 months of their contract.

Registered in your name from the start

Here the number comes straight from the carrier's own live stock, so nobody owns it before you:

1. Pick a number and pay online (Aani or bank transfer, or crypto). 2. Add your Emirates ID details once; they're encrypted and used only to register the number. 3. We order the number from du or Etisalat (e&) in your name. 4. The carrier delivers the SIM, usually within 1 to 3 working days. You receive it with your original Emirates ID.

What you need

A valid Emirates ID, and to be there when the SIM is delivered. For numbers marked "UAE nationals only", UAE nationality.

Questions

Can I buy a number for someone else?

Yes. The number is registered to whoever's Emirates ID details are added after payment, and they receive the SIM.

Is it safe to share my Emirates ID details?

They're encrypted, used only to register the number, and deleted after delivery. We never ask for your UAE PASS password, OTP codes or bank details.

What if the number is taken before it's registered?

Then you get a full refund, or an alternative number if you prefer.
